Commerce (FinTech) Department
About Department
The Department of B.Com FinTech was established in the academic year 2024–2025 at Thiagarajar College with an initial intake of 66 students. The programme was introduced in response to the rapidly evolving financial landscape driven by digital transformation, financial technologies, artificial intelligence, blockchain, and data analytics.
Recognizing the growing demand for industry-ready commerce graduates with technological competencies, the institution launched B.Com FinTech to bridge the gap between traditional commerce education and emerging financial technologies.
From its inception, the department has focused on experiential learning through workshops, industry interactions, startup exposure visits, innovation activities, and skill-based training programs. It actively collaborates with industry experts, financial practitioners, and startup mentors to provide students with practical exposure and career-oriented guidance.
The department also encourages innovation and entrepreneurship among students through structured programs, pitch sessions, and Fintech-based project development initiatives. With a commitment to academic excellence and industry integration, the B.Com FinTech department continues to grow as a dynamic centre for commerce education in the digital era.
