Inauguration of "Counselling Support Centre"

The Women’s Studies Centre ofThiagarajar College, Madurai organized the inauguration of
“Counselling Support Centre” on 12.02.2016 at 10.00 a.m. Around 200 students
from various departments of the college participated in the Programme. Dr. M. Eyini, Principal welcomed the gathering.
The Chief Guest of the programme, Dr. C. Ramasubramanian lighted the lamp and delivered
the inaugural address. In his address, he emphasized the need for psychologists and discussed that nowadays students
do not know how to face inferiority complex. Moreover he pointed out that institutions’ starting a counselling support centre
is a good initiative so that we could break the inferiority complex through the counsellors.
Dr. D. Helen Christina, Sri Meenakshi Govt. College,
Madurai delivered the special lecture on “Online and Mobile Counselling.” Mrs.Ramya Maheswari,
M.Sc., M.Phil, Assistant Professor & Head, Department of Psychology, Ethiraj College for Women,
Chennai delivered the Special lecture on “Student Counselling.”After the session the brochure for
the counselling support centre was released.
Mrs. T. Saravanakumar, lecturer in Psychology proposed the vote of thanks.
