The Women’s Studies Centre in collaboration with the Department of Botany, Thiagarajar College, organized a workshop on “StartUp Spark: Ignite Your Inner Entrepreneur.” Dr. R. Aruna, Director of the Women’s Studies Centre, coordinated the workshop. The program was presided over by Dr. D. Pandiaraja, Principal, and the gathering was welcomed by Dr. E. Mohan, HoD of Botany.
The resource person, Mr. Selva Murali, Founder of Agrishakti Marketplace Private Limited shared valuable insights, practical examples, and innovative ideas to motivate students toward entrepreneurship. The workshop emphasized the significance of startups and the vital role of science and technology in building them. Discussions included strategies for product creation, customer acquisition, revenue generation, product development, funding opportunities, and networking support. The session also focused on the use of modern tools and platforms to enhance productivity and streamline operations.
The resource person encouraged participants to clearly articulate their goals, stay inquisitive, explore new ideas, and accept failures as opportunities for growth. He underlined the importance of deep enthusiasm, determination, and resilience in achieving entrepreneurial success.
The session became highly interactive when the speaker addressed student queries on his contribution to the economy, ways to begin startups despite financial challenges, and strategies to overcome hardships during unsuccessful years. His responses motivated participants to pursue ideas with confidence.
The programme concluded with a Vote of Thanks proposed by Dr. R. Aruna, Director, WSC, appreciating the speaker’s contribution and the active participation of students.
