Orientation Programme and A Special Lecture

Women's Studies Centre (WSC) organized an Orientation Programme and a special lecture for the I U.G girl students of Thiagarajar College. The program aimed at welcoming new students and familiarizing them with the Centre`s activities, mission and academic opportunities. Mrs. R. Sribala, Director WSC, welcomed the gathering, highlighted the importance of women`s studies in today`s socio-political context and the centre`s role in promoting gender equality and women`s empowerment.
Dr. R.Aruna, Programme coordinator, WSC provided detailed information on the key achievements of the centre and presented an overview of the curriculum, course structure and assessment methods.
Dr.G. Selvarakku, Assistant Professor in Tamil, Coordinator Gender studies, gave a thought provoking lecture on Women empowerment and emphasized the values of women. The I year Undergraduate girl students from all disciplines attended the program and get benefitted out of it. Dr. D.Sasi Devi, Assistant Programme Coordinator, WSC proposed the vote of thanks.
