The Women’s Studies Centre of Thiagarajar College organized a workshop on Cyber Crime and Net Security for Women on 06.01.2017. Dr. M. Eyini, Principal, Thiagarajar College welcomed the gathering. Dr. Uma Kannan, Vice President of the college and Chairperson of Women’s Studies Centre emphasized on the role of regulating bodies on cybercrimes.
Mrs. S. Anusha, Advocate, Madras High Court (Madurai Bench) spoke about the various forms of cyber crime rampant in the current times. Mr. S. Srinivasa Raghavan, B.A.,B.L. explained the prevalence of cybercrime against women and the laws dealing with it. He insisted on the students’ minimal use of their mobiles and the social media. In the interactive session, students reported incidents of cybercrime. The preventive measures were also discussed. A Short Film on Swashakthi was played to create awareness among students on cybercrime and net security. Dr. D. Anbugeetha, Assistant Professor, Department of Business Administration proposed the vote of thanks.
