Workshop Programme on “Unstoppable women: Skills to Ignite your Inner Power”

The Women’s Studies Centre of Thiagarajar College, Madurai, organized an inspiring workshop titled “Unstoppable Woman: Skills to Ignite Your Inner Power” on 28th October 2025. The objective of the workshop was to empower women by helping them recognize and harness their inner potential, leadership abilities, and self-confidence.

The session commenced at 3:30 p.m. with a warm welcome address delivered by Dr. R. Aruna, Director of the Women’s Studies Centre. Following the welcome, Dr. Uma Kannan, President, and the Resource Person, Mrs. Visalakshi Kannan, were honored with mementos as tokens of appreciation and respect by Dr. D. Pandiaraja, Principal of our college.

The workshop was conducted by Mrs. Visalakshi Kannan, a renowned entrepreneur and dynamic leader known for her motivational sessions and leadership training. She began the session with an interactive self-introduction activity, encouraging participants to share their aspirations and personal goals. This was followed by an engaging team-building exercise designed to enhance collaboration, communication, and mutual understanding among participants.

To promote self-reflection, Mrs. Visalakshi Kannan conducted a fun self-awareness activity that enabled participants to identify their strengths and areas for personal growth. She emphasized the importance of setting healthy boundaries, particularly the ability to say “no” when necessary, as an essential step toward maintaining balance and well-being.

The session also included an activity on the power of communication, highlighting how effective communication skills play a crucial role in achieving success both personally and professionally. Throughout the workshop, Mrs. Visalakshi Kannan inspired participants to believe in themselves, build resilience, and cultivate leadership qualities. Her thought-provoking insights on overcoming challenges and balancing professional and personal responsibilities deeply resonated with the audience.

The session concluded with an interactive Q&A, during which students and faculty members enthusiastically engaged with the speaker, seeking valuable advice on personal and professional development.

The workshop came to a close with a vote of thanks proposed by Ms. A. Genoo, a student of I BBA (SF), who expressed heartfelt gratitude to the resource person, organizers, and participants for making the event a grand success.

Overall, the workshop proved to be highly enlightening and empowering, leaving participants motivated to embrace their inner strength and pursue their goals with renewed enthusiasm, confidence, and determination.
